Cloud & DevOps Engineer · London
I like the hard parts of the job — the 2am incident, the network that won't come up, the pipeline that keeps silently failing.
CS student finishing at City, University of London — averaging a First (73%+) and available immediately. I've spent the last few years doing the actual work: cloud infrastructure at HMRC, building a startup MVP from scratch at ClickPitch, and an air-gapped chaos engineering lab for my dissertation.
I'm drawn to the unglamorous parts of the job. The 2am incident. The network that won't come up. The pipeline that keeps silently failing. That's where the real engineering happens.
My dissertation project: a fully air-gapped chaos engineering platform running on physical Cisco hardware. No internet, no cloud dependencies — a self-hosted GitLab CI/CD pipeline running off-grid and a local Llama 3 8B model doing automated root cause analysis on OOB switch logs.
A peer-to-peer messaging app in Python built on Twisted and raw sockets — an exploration of low-level async networking without hiding behind a framework.
Built responsive UI components for a live e-commerce platform — working from Figma designs to production-ready React. Freelance contribution.
